Threaded Posts and Chicago Screw Posts
Shop threaded posts that accept an 8-32 or 4-40 screw for fastening KYDEX® and leather, securing mounts and adding attachment points to tool-belt gear and DIY projects. Most are slotted for a flathead driver, joined by low-profile T posts, clutch pass-thru posts, double binding posts and black oxide Chicago screw posts.
Each post pairs with a screw of the same thread, so start with the 8-32 or 4-40 size your build uses. The 8-32 slotted posts run from 0.125 to 0.500 inch in black oxide steel or from 0.125 to 0.375 inch in black zinc stainless steel, plus a separate 0.500 inch steel post with a 0.200 inch barrel diameter and a 0.415 inch head. Every 4-40 slotted post measures 0.250 inch under the head, with a 0.150 inch barrel diameter and a 0.320 inch head.
For attachment points with little clearance, the T post pairs a 0.200 inch head with a black zinc stainless steel body in 0.1875 or 0.250 inch lengths. Under the 0.390 inch head of the stainless steel pass-thru post sits a built-in clutch that helps hold tension in the assembly, and the post can be reversed for added hold. On DIY item-mounting projects, the Double Binding Post lines up with a mount's matching center-to-center holes, and its double-post design holds the mount still as you tighten. Chicago screw posts in black oxide measure 0.203 inch across the barrel and 0.250 inch long, a fit for standard #8 eyelets.
Every post here is sold individually except the Chicago screw posts, which come 10 to a pack. Screws in both thread sizes are available in our hardware range, so a post and its screw can go in the same order. Questions on post selection for a specific project go to our team, who can walk through the options with you.
